Today has been a bad day. Today I was told my dog has cancer.
Jasper has been my best friend for the past 10 years. He has been my friend when it felt like I had no others. He has been by my side from Canada, to Oregon, to Utah and back to Canada again. He was born a Canadian dog and he will pass away a Canadian dog.
My eyes are swollen from the pain of loving "just a dog" too much. But it's worth it, these dogs give us so much more than we give them.
To Jasper...may the last of your days be filled with lots of swimming, walks, good food and joy; but most of all, love.

Patti, I started crying when I read this. I am so sorry! These little friends leave such an impact on our lives.
I am truly so sorry. What a sweet dog he is. I am glad I got to meet him one day. What a sweet tender soul he has.

So sorry to hear about Jasper. I lost both of my dogs earlier this year, within a month of each other. Losing a pet is a difficult thing to go through, I'm wishing you both the best.

Oh I'm so sorry, Patti. That is just terrible and so sad. I hope you can make the most of the time that is left.
This is heart breaking...I'm so sorry. Our animals aren't just pets, their family. I don't know you personally, but my heart goes out to you. I've loved and lost many a furry friend and it never gets easier. Enjoy the time you have left & imagine how blessed Jasper is to have been loved so much. *hugs*
